Culture and Literature:

German 4500: Theater and Music

In Progress. This course is a study of German plays, literature, and music. Learned and discussed the performance arts of Germany from the renaissance to present day. 

 

German 3400: German Culture

This course provided an in depth look at German culture and history starting from before it was a country and was just spread out tribes. Learned about the development of nationalism in Germany and how the country came together to fight against the Romans. 

 

German 3060: German Short Story

In this course we read and discussed multiple Love Stories from German authors. Discussed, analyzed, and speculated in German about meanings and reasons for these stories. 

German Courses:

 

German 1010/1020: Elementary German

Introduction to the German Language, culture, and history. Speaking, reading, and writing were used.

 

German 2010/2020: Intermediate German

Heavily focused on grammar, sentence structure, and vocabulary. Expanded on base German skills by giving speeches and writing essays. 

 

German 3100: CLIP Summer Immersion Program

Fully communicated in German and heavily focused on speaking skills. Gave 10+ minute presentations, watched full German movies and discussed them. Spent 4 hours a day for 6 weeks immersed in German language.

Business:

 

ENG 3040: Business Writing

This Course provided information on how to correctly develop a resume, cover letter, and how to prepare for an interview. A step by step audit for a hypothetical company was completed in order to gain an understanding of how that part of the business world is handled. 

 

Ger 3160/4160: German for International Business

These classes explored the history of Germany leading up to industrialization in Germany and how it affected their business culture. Learned about previous and present day business activities and how this will affect the German economy in the future. 

 

MGT 4230: International Business Management

This course provided an overview as to how companies manage to succeed in multiple countries across the world. Learned about how culture, international relations, and history affects how a company should manage a business in different parts of the world. 

 

MKT 3210: Sports Marketing

This course delved into the inner workings of marketing in the sports industry including how teams choose their locations, how to gain and maintain a fanbase, and how to make money off of athletics. 

 

MKT 4270: International Marketing

This course expands on how important cultural context is in the business world. Required to give multiple presentations about certain countries and their cultural and economical histories, this course provided deep insight into how international marketing has to be more aware of their consumers than domestic marketing.

Other Significant Courses:

 

Accounting 2010: Financial Accounting Concepts

This course provided knowledge of accounting and taught skills of using excel and spreadsheets to keep a proper account of a business’ finances. 

 

ECON 3150: Intermediate Macroeconomics

This course improved my understanding of economic principles by exploring advanced topics such as fiscal policy, monetary theory, and economic growth, which gave me insights to analyze and navigate complex economic landscapes. 

 

MKT 4430: Advertising Strategy

This course provided knowledge of brand promotion, consumer behavior, and digital marketing to craft compelling campaigns and drive business success. It focused on reaching out and connecting with consumers through the most efficient means possible.
